After coming on the 18th, I decided it was best to wait for a few days before trying the field again, to give the sunflower seeds time to mature. It was still pretty early though. The big delight was noticing a daddy Blue Grosbeak watching over 3 fluffy fledglings (who I accidentally dubbed Groslings). They pipped and squeaked to be fed, even though they already had control of their wings. Truly a spoiled generation.
And thank goodness they were so chatty, too, because it made them very easy to follow
