It's a goldfinch party out there! They are now demolishing the sunflowers left and right. I actually prefer to photograph the ladyfinches - I think there's a beautiful depth to the yellow in their feathers. The guys look good early in the morning, before sunrise. Their plumage is so neon bright that you might as well give up on photos past 7:30am, because the feathers just get absolutely blown out.

I started to get a little worried on this day, because I only saw one grosling with daddy grosbeak. I imagined that they were off at summer camp or something, having a good time.
